    Question HKS Exhaust

    Hi Guys,

Looking at which exhaust to put on my Supra N/A... I am gonin for extractors, 2.5" piping and a hi-flow cat.

I dont want it really loud, just a nice note and still gain the benifits of a hi-flow exhaust system.

Does anyone know if http://www.hks-power.co.jp/sound/ is similar to what a HKS Silent Hi-Power would sound like on an N/A Supra? Because I tihnk that clip sounds like it would have been taken from some kind of a v8...

I am getting the HKS Hi-Power cat-back, but im not sure whether to get the silent one or not. Does any one know the Decibel rating of each one on a supra?

    Cheers

With a high flow exhaust on na engines it can actually take the bottom end away leaving just up top which can make it a real dog to drive and you fuel consuption can suffer ..........not to mention the drone and law problems .

Maybe sum N/A Soop guys can comment .....with sum better advise

    Hey Av
Just had a look at Nengun
There are 2 HKS Exhaust Available
    1. high-power-exhaust Total Price inc. shipping is $804
2.high-power-exhaust-silent Total Price inc. shipping is $810

Would the first one be better or it will be very lould??
Will buy it as soon as u reply to the PM sick and tired of looking around

    ANSWER

very loud first one , however it will give very hight torque at 4000rpm plus, also provide a very deep bass note... with a slincer u can decide how u want to drive..

the second one will be quieter exhaust...it will be more responsive low end then the first one .. just depends on what u want.. u might be able to hear on car ..type the model numbers on youtube see if there are videos..[/QUOTE]

Buy an exhaust made for the NA, 2.5"... Good luck finding one thats in production...

Putting a 3" or 3.5" exhaust on an NA will move the powerband too high and sound like a POS...

    Thanks for your advise...

The HKS Hi-Power Silent does have a model designed specifically for the 2JZ-GE so it might be alright...

I might go talk to some guys at an exhaust shop.

I thought that the sound clip was from a v8 too, however if you listen to the below clip, its not that different and thats running on a turbo 4 cyl engine.
