hey there guys, just bought a 96' jza80 supra, just quick question.
never bought a tacho or gauges before, how much would i be looking to spend?
what kind should i be looking for? (if any in particular)
what gauges, eg. oil temp, should i be looking for?
    what are the best brands?

also how are your gauges/tacho mounted?
was planning on getting them mounted on the pillar, but heard if you break suddenly or have an accident, CAUSE HEAD INJURIES!
    ANY IDEAS?

If you don't mind spending the money, the Defi guages are some of the best around. Best price i've seen till date is from www.nengun.com

Ummm, i don't know if it's worth sticking guages and stuff in a NA. Unless you're planning on going turbo further on down the track.

Two on the A pillar in gauge holders (Greddy gauges and Greddy gauge holders)

One on steering column next to my boost controller

If you are monitoring the N/A then oil pressure, oil temp and water temp would be the go. Again, I'm a big fan of the Defi's but can't afford the pricetag there is a nice 2nd hand set for sale on here at the moment though.

If you are going to change the speedo and tacho then the TRD items are the go as they are direct replacements.

As JP said, 2 Gauges on the A-Pillar look good, and then the rest of them you can stick onto your steerig column. If you are going to spend the money and get the Defi BF Link Series, remember you need to buy the control unit first (~$110) and all your sensors will plug into that. Then the guages are daisy changed out from your control unit.
