Default Apexi Power FC and Apexi SAFC-II compatability

    Hey guys,

I've got a bit of money in my pocket at the moment and as you prob know from my last thread I've ordered an HKS Type S fmic.

I'm now looking at purchasing a power FC. However I currently have an Apexi SAFC-II controlling air fuel mixtures and a turbo smart eboost controlling boost. My question is can I have the Apexi SAFC-II as a monitor to view simple things like throttle percentage and everything else that it monitors but use the Power FC to control the air fuel and timing. I know you can use a different boost controller with the power FC but can I keep the SAFCII plugged in and powered yet let the Power FC control everything but boost.

Also, I know this question is subjective but how much better do you think the Power FC is at controlling air fuel mixtures as apposed to the SAFC-II? Do you think the cost of the Power FC is justifiable by a fairly large performance increase over the SAFC-II?

    Thanks in advanced.

well at the end of the day a safc is just a piggyback and a pFC is proper engine management.....almost

I guess you could wire the SAFC and PowerFC up as the SAFC doesnt modify the signal going to the PowerFC in your case.

But why bother? PowerFCs are soughta set and forget. Also the powerFC i would hope has higher tuning resolution then the SAFC for fuel.

Only reason why I want to keep the SAFC-II is I like to monitor throttle percentage and all the other things is can measure. Plus I have made a spot specifically for the SAFC so I dont want to throw it away yet.

Indeed the Power FC is almost a full managment suystem and from what I've read there is indeed a greater tuning resolution. I just hope the extra tuning resolution is worth the money.

    Thanks for your reply dayzii

In hindsight if i had to buy a SAFC id save the extra dollars and get the PowerFC. but there unavailible for my car.

If i was looking for a enginemangement solution id buy a haltec as they have good rep with supras.
